I got the new LG 8550 Chocolate in black last week, and im just loving it. After testing it out for a week i thought id share my review with yas
It takes decent pic's and movies (even tho the movies are tiny as heck 176x144) My eye's about bugged out trying to see the movie I shot, even on my PC I was a squinting trying to see it....but what can ya expect, its a Phone with a video camera built in. not a video camera with a phone built in.
The music player is nice and crisp and easy to work with and it has 3d sound effects if you want the concert hall style of effect's added and a preset selection of EQ settings....I love the Call thru feature, the music pauses when I receive a call and resumes when I hang up...this the sound is not IMO as good as my Ipod it's still quite nice. But it could be I use a expensive set of Ear buds for my Ipod, which have a better sound quality than the ones I have for the 8550.
Calls are nice and clear and I get much better reception with it than my previous phone, which met its demise by water. Apparently phones are like cats and really will give ya trouble if they get wet. (imagine my surprise).
It has all kinds of features and stuff like web browsing ,streaming video,music,etc.. some of which I haven't delved in to yet
I recommend leaving the Plastic film on the screen. it is very durable and air tight which will help protect the screen from damage/scratches,even in side a case . Most cases allow dirt in. The dirt rubbing between the case and the phone will scratch the screen. Also the film is removable and washable by hand with warm water and soap. Dry with a lint free towel and reapply to the screen. It's kind of like the old color forms we played with as a kid .. it will re cling to the screen. remember to place the film at the end and gently slide your thumbs the other direction to press it on the screen. this will press out the air bubbles as you apply it... I have taken mine off and washed it and reapplied it a few times this week, as i work construction and dirt likes to get in everything.
So far I give my Black Chocolate
2 thumbs up...
