Home to HG_Eliminator * aka* PhenomTT. Yeh its not much to look at yet, I havent finished unpacking..
Tiggz the innovator, has struck again. He used DX to assemble an animated wallpaper.(It's sweet) I thought it deserved a little time in the limelight.

Top notch thinking from a top notch skinner. I hope more XP folks follow this lead.
Take a look here.

The spinning cog consists of a 10 frame image, each frame has the cog rotated by a small increment - it is applied to a dx object and configured on the animation tab of that object.

The flashing neon/fuse type thingies are randomly shown using some dxscript - they are applied to various states of an object, and those states are called by the script.

I have commented the script to try and explain what is going on.

If you load the theme and then navigate to your current theme folder (enter dx builder mode, open the dx configuration dialog, go to the 'desktop' tab and click the 'open desktop data folder' button) you can see the images used.

If you are more familair with graphics than script then creating multi-frame images is the easiest way to make some animations

Does DesktopX have to be installed to use this paper?
on Jan 16, 2008
Oh I am a lot better with graffics than script. Thank you for the instructions I will try doing this. I am still pretty new at some of this.

kelltech: Yes, you will need to have DesktopX installed to use that animated wallpaper, because it's basically a DesktopX THEME.

Have Fun!!

I made one a while ago, it even won a contest. Although I made it in different way, using objects to animate objects.
